USG Suicide Prevention Conference
The University System of Georgia (USG) Suicide Prevention Conference is supported by funds from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) of the federal CARES Act specifically to support mental health and student support services within USG. The USG Suicide Prevention Conference is an event to support USG students, faculty, and staff to promote the health and wellbeing of our educational communities.
Speakers representing the Jed Foundation, Active Minds, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be included on the program. In addition, USG student leaders and staff will present breakout sessions to highlight best practices in suicide prevention and awareness. Topics such as yoga, mindfulness, supporting students with eating disorders, fostering student engagement with Active Minds student organizations, creative marketing strategies to promoting health and wellbeing along with a student panel will highlight the program.
