The 16th Annual Meeting of the North American Black Fly Association (NABFA)
The 16th annual North American Black Fly Association (NABFA) meeting will be held February 15-16, 2018 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education on the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 15th and end around noon on Friday, February 16th.
We invite black fly enthusiasts, researchers, control specialists and students to join us to exchange ideas, information and camaraderie. Students are especially encouraged to participate in the Mike Spironello Award competition presented annually to the student giving the best talk. The award was established to honor the memory of former NABFA Secretary and black fly researcher, Mike Spironello, who passed away unexpectedly in 2006.
Registration for the meeting is $130.00 for non-students and $70.00 for students. Registration includes a BBQ dinner, a group luncheon at the Georgia Center and one of our classic tee-shirts. A tour of the University of Georgia black fly rearing and bioassay laboratory will be available for anyone whom is interested. Additional information about the meeting is available at the NABFA website. Registration and reservations will be handled through the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Elmer Gray and John Walz will also serve as points of contact. We hope you can attend!
