Georgia APSE 2019 Training Conference
Make Employment Happen!
Welcome to the registration site of a unique event loaded with fresh thinking and new ideas. Be Prepared – this will not be your usual conference. Conferees will become meaningfully engaged in creating a more inclusive world.
We have the honor of hosting 3 nationally recognized leaders in making employment happen through professionals like you. On opening day, you will have the pleasure of meeting Allan Bergman. Allan is the CEO of HIGH IMPACT Mission-Based Consulting & Training. He is a nationally recognized change agent and thought leader in cross-disability policy and “best practices”. Allan is the father of an adult daughter who has begun new competitive employment since moving into her own condo with supports. He is also a step-father to a daughter who lives in a group home and participates in community day supports. To open the second day of our conference, we are delighted to welcome back Kathie Snow! Kathie is the author of several books and articles – one of her most popular is Disability is Natural: Revolutionary Common Sense for Raising Successful Children with Disabilities. Another favorite is Apple Bites: Common Sense Disability Strategies for Everyone. Kathie is quick to give credit to her young adult son and others with disabilities for much of what she has learned. Our final day will offer a special experience! We will proudly welcome our own Doug Crandell! Doug will introduce and narrate the film INTELLIGENT LIVES. This film is the creation of award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib. Habib says, “INTELLIGENT LIVES challenges what it means to be intelligent, and points to a future in which people of all abilities can fully participate in higher education, meaningful employment, and intimate relationships.” In addition, conferees will have the opportunity to choose among several concurrent sessions featuring local experts.
Come meet with each other, network, and enjoy!
