Where Does the Time Go? Understanding and Improving Time Management Habits

This session will help attendees identify habits and patterns that can undermine effective time use, including multi-tasking and distractions. Multiple evidence-based strategies for time management will be presented and discussed so that participants can identify methods that may be most useful to them.

  • Identify common sources of distraction during work.
  • Learn about methods for managing time effectively.
  • Develop a personal action plan for daily, weekly, and long-term time management.

Presenter:

Anne Shaffer, associate dean, UGA Graduate School
Anne serves as associate dean of the Graduate School, overseeing general operations and supporting strategic initiatives to advance graduate education at UGA, such as the GradFIRST curriculum. She is a licensed psychologist and a professor in the Department of Psychology, where she mentors doctoral students and maintains an active program of research in clinical and developmental psychology.
