Building a Better Qualtrics Survey

Improve your Qualtrics skills to collect better data. Session topics include question types (and when to use them), response validation, display and skip logic, survey flow, and invitation and reminder emails. This session is intended for individuals with prior Qualtrics experience (beginner to intermediate skill level).

Target Audience: PSO faculty and staff with prior Qualtrics experience. Beginner to intermediate experience is required.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the best question type based on data needs.
  • Understand the different types of response validation.
  • Understand how to use survey flow and display/skip logic.

Brian Simmons, public service faculty, Carl Vinson Institute of Government
Brian joined the Institute of Government’s Survey Research and Evaluation unit in 2013. In this role, he develops and implements appropriate research methodology for survey and evaluation projects. He works closely with clients to develop instruments and to identify the appropriate methodology required to answer clients’ questions. Brian is a certified Qualtrics Research Core Expert with nearly 10 years of Qualtrics experience.

Brian works on the Web Instructional Design team at the Georgia Center. As a part of his position, he collaborates with internal stakeholders to design and develop Qualtrics projects for various data collection needs.
