Best Practices for Engaging Students in PSO

This session will focus on best practices for engaging students in our work in PSO. Panelists will share examples of how they recruit, onboard and engage students in their work. Case studies will range from working with student workers and volunteers to managing interns and overseeing service-learning course opportunities. Participants will develop an action plan for supporting students that they currently work with, or for establishing new student engagement opportunities in their work.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify signature student engagement opportunities in PSO.
  • Learn best practices for working with students in a variety of capacities (volunteer, student worker, internship, service-learning courses, etc.).
  • Develop an action plan for engaging with current students or establishing future student opportunities.
